Custom Tractor Chair
This project was beyond fun! The goal was to create a custom Tractor Chair + Bookshelf to serve as the anchor piece in a young boy’s tractor themed room in Burr Ridge. We started by taking sketch from Sheryl Allen Interiors and turning it into a working measured drawing. We started with a creative form + function design for the “tractor wheels” with attention to the reality that this “chair” would also need to be ready to support a guest grown adult story reader — So we ran black steel pipe axels to the four wheels to carry this potential wight challenge. From there the individual parts of the tractor chair were individually fabricated —- The result was a pile pf parts: 4 wheels, the base+seat structure, canopy, front scoop bookcase and bucket lifts. Finally a paint scheme was applied complete with a steering wheel and reflectors. We loaded up the pile of tractor parts and assembled on site while a excited little boy provided supervision — The result was a one of a kind piece which will provide the stage for an active imagination for year’s to come!
